And it rides on Stingray's Z-plane hull, which means its performance is hard to beat in its size class. When you put the throttle down, the 225SX pops on plane in seconds. Trimmed out at full throttle, only the last few feet of hull make contact with the water as it releases to reach max speed. The hull design ensures that it handles turns with agility. Simply put, this baby corners like it's on rails! The Stingray 225SX has the builder's Z-Plane hull which actually ?steps? inward toward the centerline in three stages. The horizontal planes give lift without the second surface which causes drag. Most boats in this class have V-bottoms with strakes that give the boat lift with their horizontal surface, but they also have a vertical surface which serves little useful purpose and adds drag.
